Saga between Haas and ex-sponsor Uralkali continues: Komatsu responds

Former sponsor of Haas, Uralkali, has made a bid to seize the assets of the American Formula 1 outfit, including cars, over an outstanding sponsor payment. The Russian company escalated the matter with Dutch courts this week. Team boss Ayao Komatsu responded to the controversy in the team principal's press conference on Friday.
Following a court hearing in June in Switzerland, it was ruled Haas must refund Uralkali a portion of its sponsorship payment made for 2022 before its deal was cancelled in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Uralkali is the company of the father of former Haas driver Nikita Mazepin, and on Thursday evening in Zandvoort, the police and bailiffs were present in Zandvoort to map Haas's contents.
The belongings seized will not be allowed to leave the country until the debt has been repaid, the police ruled.
A spokesperson for Uralkali responded to Motorsport.com. “We are delighted to hear that, following last night’s visit from Dutch authorities, Haas is finally paying attention to the arbitral ruling. Uralkali wants nothing more than to receive what it was awarded during a fair judicial process and hopes that Haas will move quickly to rectify the situation so that all sides can move on."
Komatsu: Haas 'not disputing' the ruling
"So, obviously, an arbitration ruling was made, and then we accepted it. We're not disputing it whatsoever. And then it's a complicated process to transfer those funds across, and then we're working on that, and it's been taking longer than I would like. But, yes, we are fully focused on making it across as soon as possible," Komatsu concluded.
