Oscar Piastri found himself in an interesting situation early on in the second free practice session in Zandvoort. Immediately after going out on track, the Australian driver had to return to the pit lane.

A strange event occured in FP2 at the Dutch Grand Prix. Oscar Piastri had visibility issues in the session, causing him to abort his first lap on a set of medium tyres.

"I think I need to box for a new helmet. This visor is completely... something is completely wrong this visor. I basically can't see," the Australian reported to his team over the radio.

Piastri could safely guide back his McLaren into the pit lane, where a second helmet awaited him. Before the red flag was waved for Nico Hulkenberg's incident, he was standing in P10.
