Verstappen shocked in the morning: 'Who the f*ck is ringing the doorbell?'
- Estéban den Toom
Max Verstappen was suddenly woken up while sleeping yesterday morning, he told Team Redline's livestream. The Red Bull driver was sleeping soundly, until suddenly there was a pounding on his door. Suddenly, someone from the FIA was there at the door to check Verstappen for doping.
Verstappen very unpleasantly surprised
On the livestream, the reigning Formula 1 world champion said he was sleeping in the motorhome when suddenly the unexpected visit arrived there. "I had a lovely morning this morning," Verstappen said on the stream.
"I was still in bed and suddenly the doorbell rings. I'm like what the f*ck, who the f*ck is ringing the motorhome doorbell? And then I looked at my phone, and it was 7 o'clock. I thought: what the f*ck is going on? So I go to the door and opened it: 'Yes, doping control.' It's 7am, I said: great, that's a great start to the weekend."
Verstappen had to submit a urine sample
The Dutchman explained that he had to supply a urine sample to the FIA, but it didn't happen automatically. "It took me one hour to go to the toilet," he revealed. Incidentally, it is not the first time it happened to Verstappen. "I have already been tesed five times this year, which is a lot. I was tested in Spa as well," he said.
Verstappen starts the third free practice session for the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort on Saturday at 11.30am local time. That session can, of course, be followed live via GPblog.
