Max Verstappen was not particularly happy with his car after the Dutch Grand Prix. Lando Norris' victory shrinks both the drivers' and constructors' championship leads. Verstappen doubts the RB20 will feel much better at Monza, where racing takes place next weekend.
Norris started the Dutch Grand Prix from pole position, but pretty soon had to cede that lead position to Verstappen, who was much quicker off the start. The Brit from Bristol overtook Verstappen again, and it soon became clear that the RB20 was not really driving well, according to Verstappen. The reigning world champion doubts the car will be better in Monza.
Verstappen on race in Monza
"I don't know," Verstappen told reporters after the race. "I mean, we just need to solve our balance problems. I think that will already help a lot. Of course in Monza there is a lot of new, the tarmac, the kerbs, even the layout in turn one and two. So we need to understand that too. So we still have to understand a bit of that as well. But yes, we know we still have a lot of work to do."
Next weekend is already the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Nine more Grands Prix this Formula One season. Verstappen has a seventy-point lead over Norris in the drivers' championship.
