These records were broken at the Dutch Grand Prix
- Sandy van Wijngaarden
For the first time since the return of Formula 1 to the Netherlands, a driver other than Max Verstappen won. Lando Norris managed to win the race with a lead of more than 22 seconds. Read here which records were all broken during the race in the Dutch seaside resort.
Which records were broken at the Dutch Grand Prix?
It does not happen often, but all participating drivers actually made it to the end of the race. For the fifteenth time in Formula 1 history, all cars finished. Incidentally, the first time this happened was also at Zandvoort, in 1961.
Lando Norris won a race for the second time in his career and also for the second time this year. In both cases, Max Verstappen finished second and Charles Leclerc third. The gap by which Norris won the race, 22.8 seconds, is the largest gap by which a race has been won during this season.
A statistic Norris will be less happy with is that he continues his streak of losing the lead with a pole position on the first lap. At Zandvoort, he eventually managed to regain the lead on track.
Once again, the race at Zandvoort had no safety car. This is the case for the sixth race in a row this season. The last safety car took place during the Canadian Grand Prix. For the second time in a row, all drivers who finished in the top ten are race winners.
After the Dutch Grand Prix, it had been 64 days since Max Verstappen last won a race. This is the longest period without victories for the Dutchman since the start of the 2021 season.
