Verstappen comments on whether he is still comfortable at Red Bull
- Tygo Bekkema
Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing have been struggling with the balance of the car for some time. The ongoing problems are causing their lead in both the drivers' and constructors' championships to dwindle. Despite this, the Dutchman still enjoys the atmosphere within the team and hopes they turn the tide soon.
The three-time world champion spoke about the atmosphere at Red Bull's team at the media day ahead of the Grand Prix weekend at the Italian Grand Prix. Although things are not smooth sailing today, he is still enjoying the process. "I am enjoying it. Yeah. Would I like to win more? Yes, of course. But I also knew that a season like we had last year was very unrealistic. But did I expect it to be like this? Not really with how we ended and how we started. So now it's up to us to just try and make it better. But I know that everyone is working flat out to make it better," Verstappen says.
Verstappen dismisses possible solution
There has been a visible downward trend in sporting terms after the Chinese Grand Prix, at the time of that race the balance sheet was still in order. But according to Verstappen, it would not help Red Bull to revert to that setup. "I don't think it would be faster. Other teams have been upgrading the car really well. So for us to, let's say, downgrade the car for better balance, it's not necessarily faster over a lap."
