Charles Leclerc suggests Ferrari will strong at F1 Singapore

Most of the attention was on McLaren and Red Bull ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, but it was Ferrari's Charles Leclerc who took home the biggest trophy in front of the Tifosi. The Italian team somewhat surprised with a very smart strategy and some impressive management on the hard tyre. Leclerc has listed another venue where Ferrari might be able to challenge for victory.

Leclerc has two wins to his name in the 2024 Formula 1 season. The man from Monaco won in the streets of Monte Carlo earlier in the season and has now added Monza to his list in 2024. If Leclerc had to pick just two races to win across the whole season, it would probably be those two. However, they are very unique circuits.

Will Leclerc win another F1 race in 2024?

The McLaren car is strong at a range of different circuits. They now have more podiums than any other team in 2024 after both Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris finished in the top three at Monza. Ferrari have a car that needs certain track characteristics to perform at. Though Leclerc is now more optimistic for the coming races.

"Before this race [Italian GP], I don't think I was seeing myself challenging for wins anywhere else. Maybe Singapore. Singapore maybe could be a strong track for us. On the other tracks, I still feel like we are a step behind McLaren and Red Bull," Leclerc told GPblog and others in Monza.

"But today we've seen that we can be very on a par with McLaren if we do everything perfect. Again, I think that the upgrade has helped us in some ways today to have the same pace as them. However, for the other tracks, I don't know whether it will be enough to completely close the gap. We've done some step forward. I think we need some others," Leclerc concluded.

Good news for Leclerc: the Singapore Grand Prix will take place in just a few weeks. The event is scheduled for September 15, but Formula 1 will first visit Baku for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
