Formula 3 champion earns promotion: F2 team announce Fornaroli for 2025
The 2024 Formula 3 season concluded with Leonardo Fornaroli winning the championship driving for Trident, with a last corner overtake on Christian Mansell. Following the Italian's success, it has now been announced that he will make his way to Formula 2 this upcoming season.
Even as Fornaroli's move in Parabolica at the Italian GP Feature Race did not matter as Gabriele Mini was disqualified, the Italian also earned his title on track. The Italian eventually collected 153 points this season in Formula 3, together with two pole positions, and seven podiums, even as he failed to win a single Grand Prix in 2025. Fornaroli will follow Gabriel Bortoleto's footsteps.
Invicta announce F3 champion
Fornaroli is now the first driver to be announced by a Formula 2 team for the upcoming year. As Trident currently do not have a team in the series above F3 this upcoming season announced, he will join Invicta Racing. Invicta currently lead the Constructors' championships in F2 with Bortoleto and Kush Maini.
Welcome to the team, @LeonardoForna!
