Alan Permane is currently the sporting director of Visa Cash App RB. He was sacked from Alpine last year, and so this season he began a new challenge within Formula 1. On Friday in Baku, he explained the plans for VCARB's updates to the car this season.

Permane over upgrades

Red Bull Racing's subsidiary team is sixth in the world championship among constructors. With Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda, VCARB have scored 34 points this season. GPblog asked if any upgrades to the car are in the pipeline, and Permane gave the affirmative answer. "We have updates coming," the sporting director revealed.

With a cryptic description, Permane seemed to say where the updates are coming: "I don't want to say every race, but like I said, I don't think we've got much for Singapore again. It's a bit of a tricky one there, but certainly, we've got stuff coming in Austin, there's updates planned all right the way through, not quite to the end, but certainly to two or three races from the end."

Horner on Austin

Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing's team boss, also said the upgrades to the RB20 are likely to work better in Austin. The circuit in the United States has more high-speed corners, unlike the Baku City Circuit.
