Verstappen teases about press conference silence: 'Problem with my voice'
Max Verstappen continues to issue a clear statement to the FIA. The Dutchman refused to answer questions at the routine post-qualifying press conference for the top three finishers in Singapore. Verstappen secured second place in what was a nail-biting session. The three-time world champion told journalists that he would rather speak to them outside of the press conference room. The FIA is yet to react to Verstappen's rebellion after punishing him with community service after he swore earlier in the week.
Verstappen makes a statement to the FIA
A few brave journalists still attempted to ask the three-time world champion a question during the press conference, but they didn't get much back in the form of a response from Verstappen. "I would prefer if you ask these questions outside the room," he replied when asked about how his RB20 has changed since last week's race in Baku.
Verstappen plays off silence: 'A problem with my voice'
When asked about the possible consequences of his silence, Verstappen simply said: "No comment." One last attempt was made to get an answer, from the championship leader, but Verstappen was having none of it. "I'm answering. Just not a lot. Problem with my voice." The Dutchman explained.
Verstappen was given a community service penalty by the FIA for saying 'f*cked' during the Thursday press conference. Outside the press room, Verstappen answered questions from the media present as his discontent with the FIA clearly continues.
