Verstappen "not yet" eager to return as make or break US GP awaits him
For Red Bull Racing, the upcoming United States Grand Prix will be crucial. The Austrians need to have a successful update package ready to help Max Verstappen to his fourth world title, despite the Dutchman's lead in the standings. Currently however, Verstappen is enjoying his time off, and admits is not yet looking forward to the next F1 weekend.
Verstappen not looking forward to the US GP yet
F1 drivers are currently enjoying a welcomed break before finishing the season with two sets of tripleheaders in 2024. So does Verstappen, who enjoys spending his time in the simulator and also streams playing different video games.
In a recent livestream together with his sim racing team Team Redline, the next weekend's Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas was brought up. Answering whether he looks forward to going to Austin to begin the final part of the season, the Dutchman answered honestly: "Not yet."
He then continued, explaining why that is. "No, I mean it happens always when I get there, I get excited. Not yet, now I'm excited to play EA FC!"
For Verstappen, the following F1 weekend could be an important one in Texas. While he has a 52-point lead ahead of Lando Norris, the Dutchman needs Red Bull to improve to be able to challenge the Briton on track, after Norris went on to win in Singapore by more than 20 seconds.
