australian grand prix completely sold out despite Daniel Ricciardo exit

Ticket sales for the Australian GP: Has Ricciardo's exit put fans off?

9 October at 21:00

Tickets for the 2025 Australian Grand Prix have completely sold out despite the news Daniel Ricciardo will not finish the 2024 season and has now (likely) retired from Formula 1. It seems like the Australian fans have warmed to Oscar Piastri, who is competing at the front of the grid. They will also get to watch Jack Doohan make his F1 debut in Melbourne.

Piastri has already won two Grands Prix in his career. The McLaren driver is competing for poles, podiums and race wins on a regular basis and that's expected to be no different when F1 starts the 2025 season in Australia. Tickets went on sale on Wednesday after they were postponed due to problems with Ticketmaster. An hour after sales started, the Grand Prix was already completely sold out. No tickets are left for Saturday (when qualifying takes place).

The Australian Grand Prix still popular

However, some tickets are still available for Thursday—when fans can browse the pitlane on Friday. All in all, Melbourne, which hosts the inaugural race next season, is going to be busy. This year's event attracted 452,055 visitors over the four days, an increase of almost 7,500 over the previous year. For 2025, the organisers have slightly increased the number of entry places as well as prices.

From 13 to 16 March 2025, Australian fans will be able to enjoy Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3.
