F1 Max Verstappen responds to speculation from Zak Brown and others
Today at 10:00

Max Verstappen does not care about speculations about his team, Red Bull Racing. The Dutchman finds it bizarre how people reach certain conclusions about the Austrians' current situation and underlines that he does not want to waste too much energy on these speculations.

After a dominant 2023 season, in which the Dutch driver won all but three Grand Prix, Verstappen has been winless for months. The last time Verstappen won a Grand Prix was in Spain, but since the Miami GP, his team has been heavily challenged by McLaren and occasionally Mercedes and Ferrari as well. While some people believe Red Bull went down the wrong path in developing the RB20, there were also wild rumours that caused headaches for the team.

Verstappen: 'Bizarre how people get to certain conclusions'

McLaren CEO Zak Brown was one of the figures who stated their rivals dip in performance could be traced back to the unrest within Red Bull earlier in the current season. However, the Dutchman underlines that he does not pay attention to this statement by his rivals. "Other people shout things all the time, but they should just concentrate on their own team. This is not specifically directed at Zak Brown by the way, but applies to everyone. Everyone should just be busy with themselves and so do I," he told Motorsport.com.

Another rumoured reason for Red Bull's recent struggles was a rule change to asymmetrical braking. The Dutchman himself finds it strange how certain rumours can come to life. "I find it quite bizarre how people sometimes come up with certain things, but well, it is what it is," the three-time world champion continued.

The driver understands that rumours and speculations are part of the world of Formula One, but he himself does not care much about them. Even though the Dutchman believes everyone is entitled to their opinion, Verstappen says he largely ignores these reports and prefers to spend his free time doing other activities instead.
