Verstappen "knew for a long time" that Klopp was to join Red Bull's family
Max Verstappen says that "it's great" that Jurgen Klopp will become a part of the Red Bull family. The former manager of Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund will now be a part of the Austrian company after it was announced that he will become their 'Head of Global Soccer' from 1 January 2025.

Klopp is regarded as one of the best managers and coaches that the world of football has ever seen, winning two Champions League and a Premier League with Liverpool, as well as two Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund too. Now, he will take his expertise to the Austrian company as their 'Head of Global Soccer.'
Klopp will start overseeing the international network of Red Bull football clubs, including RB Leipzig in Germany, Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, and the USA's New York Red Bulls.
But although the deal was only recently announced in the past couple of weeks, Verstappen already knew that the German was joining the Red Bull family: ""I knew for a long time already that they were talking and that it was close to being signed. I think it's great. Red Bull are investing a lot in, also in football. With the teams they have already, there's a lot of talent which has come through already. With someone like Jurgen in charge from the top, he has a lot of experience and has managed a lot of clubs. It's great for the organisation," the Dutchman said to the British branch of Sky Sports on Thursday in Austin.
