Surprise result in the F1 Power Rankings? These 3 drivers beat Verstappen
Charles Leclerc has topped the F1 Power Rankings list from the United States Grand Prix weekend, with an average score of 9.4 out of 10. The man from Monaco made an impressive move to take the lead at turn one and never looked back in the Grand Prix. But the Ferrari driver was beaten by his teammate in the sprint race and qualifying. Meanwhile, Verstappen was voted 4th best for his performance.
The Monegasque had a superior car but failed to impress during Saturday's sprint race and qualifying. Meanwhile, Verstappen won the sprint, managed to get a place on the front row for the Grand Prix, beat his World Championship title rival, and dominated his teammate again.
The judges on F1.com gave Leclerc an average score of 9.4. Liam Lawson and Carlos Sainz were rewarded with better average scores than Verstappen. Lawson received a 9.2, while Sainz received a 9.0. Verstappen was the fourth-best driver, with an 8.2 score.
Despite making a mistake in the sprint, at the start of the Grand Prix and overtaking Verstappen off the track, he received almost the same rating as Verstappen. Norris received an 8.0.
The F1 Power Rankings after the United States Grand Prix
In the standings of the so-called Power Rankings, Lawson is now in the lead, even though he has only driven one GP. Lando Norris is number two, one place ahead of Verstappen.
