Yuki Tsunoda crashes during qualifying in Mexico
26 October at 22:47

Yuki Tsunoda caused a red flag in the second part of qualifying in Mexico. In the closing stages of the session, the Japanese driver lost control of the car and ended up in the wall entering the stadium section.

For VCARB, the red flag and crash was extra painful. The team seemed strong this weekend and need to score points in the battle with Haas. However, both Haas drivers were quick enough for Q3 and Liam Lawson couldn't finish his lap due to the red flags. As a result, both cars dropped out after Q2.

For Red Bull as a whole, qualifying went anything but smoothly. Red Bull Racing lost Sergio Perez in the first part of qualifying. The Mexican will have to start from 18th place in front of his home crowd on Sunday. However, Tsunoda, who is in the picture for Perez's seat, did not make a positive impression with a crash.
