Verstappen reacts to new racing rules: 'Nothing will change'

The FIA is planning to adjust its rules following the battle between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris in Austin. The FIA reached this conclusion after talks with the F1 drivers in Mexico. While Max Verstappen says he understands the FIA's intervention, he is not dwelling on the new changes.
During the drivers' meeting on Friday night in Mexico, drivers discussed Norris' overtaking move on Verstappen last week at the United States Grand Prix for which Norris received a penalty for overtaking off the track. There are some drivers who feel that Verstappen should have also been penalised, as they felt that he pushed Norris off track. Despite these different viewpoints of the accident, it was agreed overall that the FIA racing guidelines should be more clear.
Verstappen will not race differently
According to Verstappen, it is always good to improve rules, especially when ambiguities can arise. On the other hand, the Dutchman was critical of the track design itself and felt that it allows for such controversial incidents to occur. Speaking to Dutch media, the world champion commented on the matter. "If there's just a gravel pit there or something else, you never end up in that situation. The driver on the outside then never brakes that late, because then you risk going off. And for the person on the inside, the same story applies. He also goes into the corner a bit more carefully," Verstappen said, quoted by Motorsport.
This is not the first time a rule has been changed after an event involving Verstappen. Despite this, Verstappen seems unfazed by these changes going into the next race at Mexico, saying: "In terms of racing, nothing will change for me."
