F1 Championship standings: How many points Norris gained on Verstappen

Lando Norris has caught up with Max Verstappen in the Formula 1 championship. The McLaren driver finished second in the Mexican Grand Prix, which was won by Carlos Sainz. Verstappen finished only sixth after two-time penalties totalling 20 seconds.

Sainz took his fourth career victory at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Norris and Leclerc completed the podium, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell behind them, who fought for fourth place. Verstappen finished behind them in sixth place.

Leclerc took the extra point for the fastest lap. The McLaren driver is closing in on Verstappen, but the Dutchman has limited the damage as much as possible and now has a lead of 47 points over Norris.
