F1 drivers' ratings after Mexico GP | Tough weekend for Verstappen

F1 Driver Ratings | Tough weekend for Verstappen as Sainz shines in Mexico

28 October at 12:30

The Mexican Grand Prix was a true spectacle due to several battles throughout the field. Carlos Sainz emerged victorious and also got the highest mark in the ratings from GPblog. See all the ratings after the Mexican GP here.

Carlos Sainz was the strongest in Mexico, resulting in the highest mark for the Spaniard. Sainz took pole position and victory. Sainz lost the lead only briefly at the start of the race, but surprised Max Verstappen with a clever overtaking move at the first corner. After that, there was no problem for Sainz.

Max Verstappen had a tougher time in Mexico due to the lack of pace in his RB20. For that, he compensated in the duel with Lando Norris by pushing the limits of the regulations. This time, that was harshly penalised, even putting Verstappen behind the Mercedes drivers and losing many points.

The lowest mark goes to Sergio Perez. He made a mess of things in his home country, with another Q1 elimination, wrong place on the grid and multiple collisions in the race. Fortunately, according to Perez, it was all down to the car and not Checo itself.
