F1 Full Results | Brazil sprint qualifying: Piastri steals pole from Norris

1 November at 19:20

Oscar Piastri steals pole position for the sprint race at the Brazilian Grand Prix, just three-hundredths of a second ahead of teammate Lando Norris in P2.

It looked like Norris was to send an ominous message to the rest of the grid, dominating proceedings in SQ1 and SQ2 with some brilliant pace. However, as the chequered flag fell at Interlagos, the Australian managed to find just a bit extra over his teammate, stealing P1 away from him.

Charles Leclerc finished behind the two McLarens in P3, while Max Verstappen could only manage to qualify in P4. Carlos Sainz and George Russell lock out the third row in P5 and P6, respectively, with Pierre Gasly, Liam Lawson, Alex Albon and Ollie Bearman rounding out the top ten.

In SQ2, there were a couple of shock eliminations, as Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Pere both missed out on the final session of sprint qualifying. Hamilton could only go P11 as he struggled with pace once again in a qualifying session, while Perez did not cross the line in time to set his final lap, meaning he was stuck down in P13 from his earlier session.
