Max Verstappen put in a statement performance in Brazil. After the Dutchman could make a free pit stop under the red flag, he won comfortably at Interlagos, and thanks to this result, he extended his lead massively in the championship.

This is the current standings among drivers

Verstappen has not won a Grand Prix since the one in Barcelona, but after the second restart, he did not look back, after he began the race from P17. As Lando Norris finished in P6, the Dutchman could gain 18 points on his rival.

As a result, the gap between the aforementioned two drivers stands at 62 points in the standings, with three Grands Prix and a Sprint event to go.

Thanks to finishing in P4 today, George Russell is also now ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the standings, however, both Mercedes drivers are investigated by the stewards at Interlagos.
