Leclerc eases pressure: 'We shouldn't think about that'
Ferrari are trying to chase down McLaren in the constructors' championship. With three Grands Prix weekends to go in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi, Charles Leclerc talked about his team's chances.
Leclerc on the constructors' championship
After Leclerc won at the Circuit of the Americas and Carlos Sainz managed to cross the finish line in P1 in Mexico City, Ferrari got up to second place in the constructors' standings behind McLaren. Currently, the gap stands at 36 points between the two teams.
"It would be very, very important. Especially after so many years, Ferrari being out of chances of winning that world title, so, it’s important," Leclerc began in Brazil.
He added: "We are just focusing step by step. We really believe that this is the way forward in order to give ourselves the best chance in order to win the championship, we’ve got to not think about it too much."
"We have good momentum, the motivation is super high in the team and we need to use that to do a very good short term, and then we’ll see at the end of the season how it goes," the Monegasque driver concluded.
