Despite having secured a contract for his future, it is highly uncertain whether Sergio Perez will continue to compete for Red Bull Racing in Formula 1 next season. Liam Lawson and Franco Colapinto are seen as potential successors to Max Verstappen's teammate. Although Perez has repeatedly indicated that he will continue to race for the Austrian team in 2025, he admits that the period after that is unclear for him.

In the Podpah podcast, he states, "I am slightly older than Max, so I am already at the end of my career. I am 34 years old. My children are the most important thing for me and they are reaching an important age. With 24 races on the calendar and the total dedication we have to have, this is not sustainable for many more years."

Perez doubts F1 in 2026

Perez reiterates that he will also be on the F1 grid in '25. But what about 2026? "I know the end is coming. I just want to enjoy it  and have a good time," said the Mexican, who has already thought about the period after Formula 1.

"In the future, I would really like to work with young people, especially compatriots. We have seen a great growth in terms of popularity of the sport, for us having a Formula 1 driver was something very important. Hopefully we can get another Mexican into the sport. F1 has had great interest from my country, so I would like it to continue," Perez said.
