Verstappen and Ricciardo's reunion spoilt with 'humiliating' padel loss
In the past, Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were teammates at Red Bull Racing. Now, only the Dutchman drives with the Austrian team, while his former teammate was replaced by Liam Lawson after the Singapore Grand Prix. However, the former teammates were reunited in a game of padel. Unfortunately, they could not translate their former success onto the court.
For a while, it looked like Ricciardo could become Verstappen's teammate once again. At Visa Cash App RB, the Australian was given the chance to prove he was good enough to replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull Racing. However, the Australian failed to convince Helmut Marko. With Lawson also knocking on the door, it was decided that Ricciardo would be replaced by the New Zealander from the United States Grand Prix onwards.
Ricciardo may not be a part of the 2024 grid anymore, but he and Verstappen were able to find a slot to meet up during the two-week break between the Brazilian and Las Vegas Grands Prix.
Verstappen and Ricciardo 'humiliated' by 13-year-old
The two former teammates joined forces once again, however, in their game of padel, they did not have any success. As they teamed up with each other, they faced off against a 13-year-old boy. Ricciardo took to Instagram after the game, saying: "We were humiliated yesterday. 13 years old. 6-4 and 6-1. We're going back to the drawing board."
