Lando Norris, who currently is second place in the drivers' standings, explained he used to be less disciplined in the past. Speaking to Austin Evans on his YouTube channel, the Briton explained the reason why: his PlayStation.

Norris on playing on the console

Plenty of F1 drivers spend time relaxing with playing on consoles. For example, Max Verstappen regularly streams. Not only sim racing, but also EA FC or other games as well. More over, when there were rain delays in the past, many drivers often gathered to do a tournament amongst themselves. For Norris, he realised for himself that ended up being too much.

"I used to have the PlayStation. I used to carry that around with me everywhere. And the screen, so I play on flights and I'd spend hours and hours. Thing is, I wouldn't sleep because I love doing these things so much. I only found I spent too much time doing that. I wasn't disciplined enough then, but I think I am now," Norris began.

According to the McLaren driver, he chooses now more carefully when to play. "When I'm home, I'll game and I'll spend my time with my friends and do those things. But almost when I'm away, it's kind of my head's in the game of racing and thinking of those things, sleeping well, eating well and focusing on that."
