Sainz to drive for Williams before 2025
Williams confirmed today that Carlos Sainz will drive for the team before his official switch to Grove-outfit next season. Sainz will join the team after Lewis Hamilton was announced to be driving for Scuderia Ferrari in 2025.
The teams all take part in the post-season test in Abu Dhabi and Williams wanted Sainz in their car to give him as much preparation time as possible ahead of next season.
Ferrari have now given Sainz permission to drive for Williams in this test, which Williams would have needed before running the Spaniard.
F1 respond to 'ticket fraud' for O2
Formula One have responded to claims of 'ticket fraud' for their highly anticipated event in mid-February. The event will see all 10 F1 teams reveal their 2025 cars, as well as musical entertainment on the night.
F1's official statement read: "We are aware that some tickets for our season launch at The O2 have been offered on unofficial resale websites. We can confirm that this is against the terms of sale and that tickets bought through an unofficial resale platform are not valid for entry. In collaboration with The O2, we have also determined that some of the advertisements are fraudulent. We advise all our fans to buy tickets only through theo2.co.uk or through AXS Official Resale."
Tickets for the event sold out quickly, with fans left frustrated. You can read the reactions by some fans by clicking here!
Chandhok responds to 'British bias'
In an exclusive interview with GPblog, former F1 driver and current Sky Sports pundit Karun Chandhok responded to claims that all British journalists and analysts are targeting current world champion Max Verstappen.
The Indian, who drove 11 races in Formula 1, admitted that not all fans accusing him are Dutch. Chandhok did also say that he feels like he doesn't belong on the list mentioned by Verstappen during a press conference earlier in the season.
