Final chance for Norris in Las Vegas? 'We are motivated and ready!'
After the Sao Paulo GP, Lando Norris now finds himself in a complicated situation in terms of the battle for the drivers' championship. His rival, Max Verstappen could extend the lead over the Briton in Brazil. Now, as McLaren are set to begin the final tripleheader, the British driver looked ahead to the weekend in Las Vegas together with his teammate, Oscar Piastri.
Norris says 'everyone's ready' in Woking
At the moment, a 62-point gap separates Verstappen and Norris in the standings, after the Dutchman won the rainy Grand Prix in Brazil. Verstappen could also already be crowned champion in the US.
"It was good to be back at MTC with the team ahead of the last three races of the year. I spent time preparing in the sim with my engineers. Everyone’s motivated and ready to give it our all in the fight for both Championships," Norris said about how he prepares for the next challenge.
"We’ll be under the lights in Las Vegas. Driving along the Strip is really cool, and I’m looking forward to racing there in the MCL38. We’ve had a good car this year and the field is incredibly strong, so I can’t wait to see what we can do this weekend," the Briton added.
Piastri hopes for more silverware
The Australian is not in contention for the drivers' title, but is also hungry to add to his two victories so far in the 2024 season. "I’m looking forward to heading out to Las Vegas and starting an important tripleheader. We're working hard to maintain our lead in the Constructors’ Championship and finish the season strongly," he began.
"The aim is to push all the way for more wins and podiums before the season is out. There's a lot of hard work and determination within the team and I'm extremely motivated to secure more success in this last part of the season."
