F1 LIVE | Las Vegas GP - FP3
What happened on Thursday/Friday
It was Lewis Hamilton who could top both FP1 and FP2 during the first day in the 'Sin City'. George Russell finished second in FP1, while Lando Norris did so in FP2. On both occasions, the leading Ferrari finished in fourth position. For Red Bull, it has not been an easy weekend so far. Verstappen finished 17th in FP2, and the team also had issues with not having a track-specific rear wings with them in the State of Nevada.
As things stand in the US
Max Verstappen currently has a 62-point lead in the drivers' standings, and will become the champion this weekend for sure if he finishes ahead of Lando Norris.
In cold temperatures in Las Vegas, important points are also up for grabs in terms of the constructors' title. McLaren lead in that championship, while Ferrari are placed second. The Italians are currently 36 points behind the Woking-based team. Red Bull Racing also have a chance, as they are only 13 points behind Ferrari in third place.
