Max Verstappen became Formula 1 world champion in Las Vegas for the fourth year in a row. In the United States, the Red Bull driver finished ahead of Lando Norris, securing the championship title. The foreign press waxed lyrical about the Dutchman. These are headlines around Europe after another world title for Verstappen.

Marca

"Worthy rival needed for Verstappen," Marca wrote on their site. The Spanish newspaper knows when the Dutchman made the difference in the championship. "Verstappen won the title 15 days ago actually, in Brazil, not this morning in Las Vegas, even the prompter knew it, you could see it on Norris' face since he was in Las Vegas. There was no rival this year: only McLaren mechanically, but not behind the wheel with Lando."

BILD

German newspaper BILD gave marks after the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Verstappen received the highest possible mark: a 1. "You never had the feeling that the championship party would have to be cancelled. He opened his first beer directly on TV during the interviews. Cheers!"

The Guardian

British newspaper The Guardian headlined, "Max Verstappen hits jackpot by winning fourth F1 world title in Las Vegas". The newspaper wrote in the first paragraph: "As the fireworks exploded over the Las Vegas skyline in honour of Max Verstappen’s coronation as a four-time Formula One world champion, the Dutchman, visibly moved by securing what was his toughest title yet, allowed himself a long breath and a smile to take in what is a remarkable achievement."

La Gazzetta dello Sport

"Verstappen, you again: with fourth title in a row, he is among the greatest drivers ever," writes La Gazzetta dello Sport in its headline. The Italian newspaper writes how Verstappen has kept his team together. "In between the difficulties of a champion who knew how to keep the rudder straight, even when goodbyes and scandals undermined the foundations of a team, his Red Bull, which underwent a profound revolution."
