A confident Sergio Perez believes he will still be a part of Red Bull next season, saying there is "a reason why [Red Bull] extended my contract." There is still a lot of speculation as to who will partner Max Verstappen at the Austrian team in 2025, but it's a seat that the Mexican believes is his.

It's been a season full of ups and downs for Perez in 2024. His season started strongly with some positive results, resulting in a contract extension at Red Bull Racing.

However, the Mexican's form took a nosedive. Verstappen managed to earn victories and podiums, sealing his fourth consecutive Formula 1 title this season, while Perez could not even make it out of Q1 six times in the season. With Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson at Visa Cash App RB - Red Bull's sister team - there are ideal replacements, along with a brimming talent pool that boasts both F2 and F3 prospects. However, Perez refuses to say that these will be his last F1 races.

Perez knows "exactly where he is" regarding the contract situation

At the press conference before the Qatar Grand Prix, Perez did not want to say anything about his contract. "I don't speak. I've been 14 years in the sport and I don't speak about my contracts publicly. So I will not comment on that. I know exactly where I am and I will not speak about it publicly," Perez said.

"I think, at the end of the day, the team has all the information. There is so much I can say here. The team has all the information. And there's a reason why we extended my contract during the year.

"The team has everything, and we exactly know where we are in terms of performance, in terms of issues, difficulties that we've had. We are a team and we know exactly internally where everything stands. So we're working really hard as a team to come through and get back into a much better season than the one that we just had," Perez concluded.
