What was Sainz's favourite moment? 'I'll never forget that one!'
Carlos Sainz has already joined Williams for the 2025 season, as Ferrari allowed the Spaniard to complete a filming day for the British team last Monday, and he then participated in the Pirelli tyre test as well. Looking back at his four seasons with the Scuderia, Sainz named his favourite moments.
Sainz looked back fondly at the season he has spent at Ferrari. The Spaniard joined the Scuderia ahead of the 2021 season from McLaren. He won his first Grand Prix at the British GP in 2022, and he also went on to win in Singapore in 2023, and then in Australia and Mexico the current year.
About his victories, he said: "It's very difficult to pick one of the four wins because they are all relatively similar in ways that they were four very different wins, but four very emotional. Silverstone because it was the first one and the first one you never forget. Singapore because that year was quite special to win in Singapore the way we won it. Australia because I was coming back from the tough winter and the appendicitis and suddenly I won and it was emotional."
His last victory in Mexico City also stood out for a different reason. "Then Mexico, because at the time it could be my last win. And my mom was there, my whole family, my friends were there to see me win. And it felt really, really special."
There is however one special occasion for Sainz that is not connected to a victory. It is his first appearance at Fiorano. "At the same time, one moment that I will never forget was driving out of the pits in Fiorano for my first outing in a Ferrari. I think that's one thing that for sure will stay with me forever. And it was probably out of the success or the great moments, that one is a pretty special one," he concluded.
