Verstappen forced to choose: sim racing or his cats?
In the new Viaplay-interview Simply Lovely, a light-hearted side to Max Verstappen will be shown. We are used to seeing a very regimented and meticulous driver when on the grid in Formula 1, making little to no mistakes and always showing how ruthless and clinical he is with fine wins and audacious moves. However, now that we have reached the end of the season, a different, more relaxed Verstappen will be behind the Dutch broadcaster's cameras.
Verstappen chooses his mother and his cats
In the interview teased by Viaplay, the four-time world champion is faced with a number of choices, having to choose between sim racing and his cats, a night out with his friends and spending the evening with his mother, AND whether he would drive or navigate if he drove a rally with his father, Jos Verstappen.
With most of these choices, Verstappen has little or no trouble, effortlessly giving up sim racing for the rest of his life if he would otherwise have to say goodbye to his cats. He would also prefer to spend the evening at home with his mother, Sophie Kumpen, whom he praises for her cooking skills.
A number of other topics come up, with the Red Bull Racing driver also asked whether he would drive or navigate if he were taking part in a rally with his father. The answer: neither. "I'm not going to sit next to my dad. I'm not going to sit next to him! And if I drive, he won't sit next to me as a navigator either. I think we can just both just get our own car," concluded Verstappen.
