The last day of 2024 definitely did not disappoint regarding Formula 1 news! Today, we got some exciting news surrounding mini Verstappen-Piquet as well as some final words on Hamilton's time at Mercedes. Let's dive in.
Kelly Piquet on her pregnancy timeline
In the comments of her most recent Instagram post, Kelly Piquet let fans know how far along she was in her pregnancy. She said, "My first trimester was rough, but I'm entering my third now! You got this!". The third trimester consists of around three months, meaning that Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet's bundle of joy could be welcomed into the world just before the start of the season.
Wolff wishes Hamilton farewell and Villeneuve weighs in on what Hamilton needs
Speaking of social media, Mercedes also posted today. They posted a video of Toto Wolff speaking about Lewis Hamilton and how Wolff feels about his time at the Formula 1 team.

While according to Jacques Villeneuve, what Hamilton needs is a fresh start and to be loved by his new team. The former F1 driver said, "It seems as if he needs to be loved, but I don't know him well enough". Villeneuve also spoke on the chances of Hamilton getting his eighth championship with Ferrari.
Ferrari passes the test
Ferrari has apparently tested out their 2025 car to see if it is crash-safe, and they passed! They are now able to continue working on it and developing a brand-new car for the season. After building a brand new car, all eyes were on team principal Frederic Vassuer to see if that was the right move for the team.

Martin Brundle was awarded OBE (Order of the British Empire) for his impact and achievements within the motorsports and sports journalism industries. He has been an active member of said industries for 30 years.
