Marc Cox has added his name to the already very long F1 transfer list. The British mechanic has made the switch from the "papaya family", which he left in 2021, to join the Aston Martin ranks for the upcoming 2025 season.

After a 17-year spell at McLaren, Cox has decided to look for a new challenge: "After 17 years with McLaren, it’s time for my next chapter. It’s gone by so fast, I had a blast and met some amazing people along the way. I’ll miss you, papaya family," he announced his move to Aston Martin on his X account.

He has joined the team of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll as a part of the Evolution program, running old cars/demo events.  After leaving McLaren's F1 team in 2021 to join the British brand's efforts in Extreme E, Cox now returns to the F1 paddock for the upcoming 2025 season.

Earlier this year, following the Australian Grand Prix, it was announced that long-serving Red Bull Racing Chief Mechanic Lee Stevenson would leave the Austrian team to tackle the same role at Sauber in 2025 as they make the transition to becoming the Audi works team in 2026.
