Alpine's Formula 1 team has already begun work in the wind tunnel for their 2026 car. The team at their Enstone factory in the UK has started development well ahead of the 2025 season, which has yet to begin. This early push marks a significant commitment to the future, showcasing their forward-thinking approach.

While the 2025 season hasn’t even begun, Alpine has already started work on their 2026 F1 car, as revealed on social media. The FIA recently ruled that teams could only begin developing aerodynamic parts for the 2026 car starting in 2025, and the French team has wasted no time in taking advantage of this opportunity—getting to work just days after the start of the new year.

Alpine starts early ahead of 2026

Starting in 2026, new Formula 1 regulations will take effect, bringing changes to the cars' dimensions and requiring teams to retest their aerodynamics. In a nutshell, the cars will be slightly lighter and more compact.

"We've been busy in the wind tunnel, alright" it was announced on Alpine's Instagram. "Last week, in accordance with FIA regulations, official Wind Tunnel testing of the 2026 BWT Alpine Formula One Team car (A526) began." The French team wrote on Instagram with a photo of the car.
