Christian Horner has faced a challenging year, both on and off the track. While the racing season presented its own difficulties, the Red Bull Racing team principal also endured personal challenges in his private life. Despite the turbulence, Horner remained steadfast and never considered stepping away from his role at Red Bull Racing.

When the season began, shocking news immediately made its way out of Red Bull. The team launched an investigation into team boss Horner after he was accused of cross-border behaviour. After a lengthy saga, Red Bull Racing's team boss was cleared.

Despite this, many big players in the sport felt that more clarity was needed about what had happened. Team bosses Toto Wolff and Zak Brown both spoke out several times about the situation surrounding Horner. There was also unease within the team. Jos Verstappen felt that the team boss should leave. In addition, there was also a reported power struggle internally, making things even more unsettled.

Horner never thought of leaving Red Bull

Although an awful lot was going on, Horner had no intention of quitting: "I’ve never, ever had that thought cross my mind, to be honest with you," he revealed to PlanetF1. "There’s a very exciting next chapter coming up with Red Bull Powertrains – it’s the biggest challenge we’ve taken on in the 20 years that we’ve been in the sport. I think the next chapter is potentially one of the most exciting chapters. You always keep learning in this business.

Horner still talks passionately about the sport

The Red Bull Racing team boss also talked about the rest of the difficulties in 2024. His huge passion for the sport demonstrates that Horner relishes battling the competition and the challenges that come with that. "There was a lot to deal with but we always remained focused on on-track. Obviously, we’ve had a few changes in the team, as well, but we’re evolving for the future, and I think we’re in good shape for that. I think we are in good shape. My passion has always been the competition. That’s what I get out of bed for. Once a racer, always a racer. When the lights go out, that’s what it’s all about."
