Football manager Klopp wants to meet Verstappen: 'It's really insane'
- Ludo van Denderen
Jurgen Klopp is a great admirer of Max Verstappen. The former Liverpool manager and former Borussia Dortmund coach said at his presentation as Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer that he would like to sit down with the Dutch world champion.
It had been announced for quite some time, but since January 1st Klopp has actually been working with Red Bull's football branch. He oversees the activities of the various Red Bull teams, for example in Leipzig, Salzburg and New York. His presentation last Tuesday was therefore mostly about football, but he also dispensed a moment to talk about Verstappen.
Klopp talks about Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen and Jurgen Klopp are colleagues in a way, and the German would love to have a chat with the four-time F1 champion. "There are so many things to talk about! Not just how focused he is, but all kinds of things," Klopp told Sky Sports, quoted by Sky Sports.
He continued, "It’s really crazy. I would love to spend time with him to understand how he can do that under the threat of 200mph in a car and still be in his absolute best mindset. Super interesting," Klopp concluded.
Perhaps Verstappen and Klopp will meet soon. After all, it is no secret that Verstappen is a big football fan.
