Hamilton embraces massive Ferrari change: “Special and unique
30 January at 17:00

Lewis Hamilton had his first taste of the intense emotionality that engulfs Ferrari’s passionate aura at the day of his presentation as a Ferrari driver, leaving the Briton to expect a ‘massively’ different experience to those he underwent at his two former -British- teams, Mercedes and McLaren.

At the seven-time world champion’s age, having always been accustomed to the British rhythm and way of going about things, making the rather radical switch to an iconic team like Ferrari, which is subject to a intense following such as the Tifosi, and a relentless level of scrutiny as the Italian press, is no simple feat.

"It will be a challenge, but I love a challenge," says Hamilton in conversation with Martin Brundle during an interview for Sky Sports. Although McLaren and Mercedes have unique approaches to F1, the teams' overall culture share a common British essence at their core, with their bases being located in British territory and a large part of their leadership consisting of British personnel. At Ferrari, Hamilton will encounter an entirely different world.

Hamilton unsure of what to expect at 'emotional' Ferrari

"I expect it to be massively different. The two teams I've been with have been British teams, so I'm going into a completely different culture in Italy," and the Briton knows exactly why.

"If you think about us Brits, we're very quiet, more calm. When you have success, when you have difficult days, everyone's kind of more chilled out, as where Italians are much more emotional.

"It's a much, much different culture and I don't truly know what to expect, but I have raced in Italy, so I expect it to be a huge amount different but special and unique in some way," concluded the seven-time world champion.
