Max Verstappen hopes he will not be penalised again for swearing in the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Dutchman has already served a community service sentence for it, but the new penalties introduced by the FIA could have far-reaching consequences.
Verstappen hopes not to be penalised again for swearing in F1
During a Team Redline livestream, Verstappen was asked if he expects to face a penalty for swearing again this year. "I hope not," replied the Red Bull Racing driver. Whether the four-time world champion will actually be gagged will be seen in the upcoming F1 season.
There is much to do around the new FIA penalties for alleged misconduct. Not only do they involve sky-high fines, if a driver is repeatedly found in breach of the code of conduct guidelines he even risks a one-month suspension and points deduction in the championship. Several sources reported that the decision on the rule change was pushed through without extensive consultation. GPDA president Alex Wurz indicated that the drivers have yet to discuss whether to take action.
Dachshund Nino spotted in Verstappen's livestream
Nino, the new dog of Verstappen and his family, could also be seen during the livestream. Earlier, Penelope, the daughter of Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet, also asked for the four-time world champion' s attention. Verstappen's household will soon be further expanded with the arrival of his first child, adding a sibling to Penelope.
