Max Verstappen addresses Aston Martin rumours for the first time on F1 75

There were surprising rumours this winter: Max Verstappen could pocket as much as €1.19 billion at Aston Martin. Speaking to selected media, including GPblog, the Dutchman addressed the rumours.

Aston Martin is doing everything it can to become a top team in Formula 1. For instance, the team attracted some pretty big names, including designer guru Adrian Newey, and inagurated their new state of the art wind tunnel recently. Yet it is rumoured CEO Lawrence Stroll, does not seem content yet. According to paddock whispers the team Canadian mogul would be readying his checkbook to in order to lure Verstappen to the British green racing team with a whopping €1.19 billion offer.

Verstappen responds to Aston Martin rumours

In London, ahead of the F1 75 event at the O2 Arena, Verstappen reacted to the rumours for the first time. "It's a lot of money. Honestly, when I read that, it was the first time I saw something like that. The only contact I had with them was about GT3 for this year. That's it. There's not much to say really, because there isn't anything."

The Dutchman was then asked what he planned to do with the GT3 then. To this, Verstappen replied, "It's not me personally driving it, but I'm starting my own team for this year with the drivers. Of course, some things need to be in place."
