Lewis Hamilton on 2025 season with Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton has completed two pre-season sessions with his new team, Ferrari, so far in Bahrain. As the season will now soon get underway, Hamilton is enjoying his time with the Scuderia. The seven-time world champion explained how comfortable he is so far in the SF-25.

After spending more than a decade with Mercedes, a great change awaits Lewis Hamilton this season. When joining a new team, drivers have to re-learn many things they were very familiar with before. "That's what these days are about, right? It's about exploring. And, I mean, at the moment, I think there's still room to explore more, and I'm just bit by bit just eking out a little bit more each time. As I said, all the settings are so different. So even just brake bias, and all those sorts of things, like, it's much different to what I had in the previous place," the Briton explained Sky Sports the process of learning the Ferrari car.

Hamilton draws clear conclusion

"It likes to be driven differently. And that's a really fun journey learning that. But, at the moment, it feels that we definitely feel the car underneath me. I feel that the car is responding to my inputs," Hamilton continued.

At the moment, the seven-time world champion doesn't want to make predictions about what their rivals are doing, and prefers to focus on testing only. "Today (Thursday) was a positive day, and making those incremental steps with the setup, there's still more work to do. But as I said, timings and all that stuff is kind of not massively relevant here. You just got to focus on your programme, and we'll find out in two weeks exactly where we stand."

Still, Hamilton can still see it will be very close in Melbourne, Australia, where the 2025 season will get underway. "We'll probably have a bit of a base feeling after tomorrow of randomly where we are, but like you said, it's going be very, very close. I think everyone's done a great job on, over winter, even like, the Williams looking strong as well, which is great," concluded the Ferrari driver.
