Alexander Albon has a new teammate for the upcoming season; former Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz. Sainz joining Williams has already been a monumental step forward for the British team, but for Albon it feels like déjà vu, which means he can understand Sainz very well.

After choosing Williams out of all his other options, Sainz moved from Ferrari to his new team in January. Similar to Sainz, after parting ways with Red Bull Racing, Albon also found himself with Williams.

Albon and Sainz understand each other through common factor

Albon is able to understand Sainz, and he is very excited to have him as his teammate. "I think that he's got a lot of experience, and he's very good at communicating what he feels in the car and the directions that he feels the car needs to go in. I think in many ways, it reminds me [of] my time at Red Bull coming here," Albon said to GPblog and others.

As he understands what it means to move to a midfield team, Albon explains, "You kind of understand and you feel what your car did before and where immediately the car that you're driving now is missing. And even these last few days I think he's been able to kind of understand that and and get the car into a pretty good place. I think he's got up to speed relatively comfortably with the car."

As far as having Sainz as a teammate, he said, "It's good. We're talking the same language. We have the same feedback. The team is doing well, we’re just responding well to solutions and whatnot. So far so good."
