McLaren wants to be as dominant as Red Bull with Verstappen: 'Would be perfect!'
F1 News

This season everything is different: where Red Bull Racing invariably started off as towering favourites in recent years, this time it is McLaren, now tipped to dominate Formula 1. Yet Oscar Piastri thinks that a dominant team - as Red Bull was for a long time - won't be coming around for many years to come.
On the eve of the new F1 season, starting this weekend in Australia, Piastri believes in an exciting battle with more teams. Therefore, on the chance of a similar dominant spell as Red Bull and Max Verstappen recently had, he says: "No, I don't think so. Obviously, that would be ideal—to try and have that level of success and competitiveness."
"I think that’s what every team dreams of and what every driver dreams of. But at this point in the regulations, with how last season went, expecting that is incredibly naive. I think this season is going to be just as tight, if not even tighter, than the second half of last year especially," Piastri told media, including GPblog.
Piastri expects changed pecking order
Piastri is a realist. Yes, the team can dominate this year. But after that? "We have a new set of rules coming next year, and that's probably going to change the pecking order quite a bit—or at least the gaps quite a bit," said Piastri, who at least hopes to win his home race. Literally home race, as the youngster grew up not far from the circuit in Melbourne.
