No repeat of '21 Spa? Latest weather forecast offers hope in Australia!
A shortened Formula 3 and no Formula 2 feature race today, but the F1 Grand Prix is set to go ahead as planned it seems in Australia. The weather conditions are seemingly becoming better, although that also does not mean a dry race either.
Different conditions in Melbourne
As it was predicted, it rained throughout the morning at the Albert Park track, making changes to the feature race schedule, but the situation seems to be better now. The radar shows showers leading up to the race, but it becomes just cloudy afterwards. There is still a 40% chance of rain throughout the race.
It seems like at least the F1 GP can take place as normal, after earlier, the F3 feature race was shortened, and the F2 and Supercar events where cancelled completely.
Quite a task will await the teams to set up their cars well, after qualifying took place in completely different conditions. Whereas the asphalt was around 45 degrees a day before, it is now at 23 degrees celsius.
Not only it is colder at the track, but it is also more windy on Sunday. Winds of 20-30 kph are expected today, whereas previous, drivers only had to deal with light wind so far.
