Isack Hadjar had not had a good day, or a Formula 1 debut. The French-Algerian crashed during the formation lap of the Australian Grand Prix. On his walk back to his team garage, he was intercepted by Lewis Hamilton's father Anthony Hamilton as he tried to reassure the debutant. Speaking to Sky Sports, Hamilton Sr. recounted the conversation he had with Hadjar.

Hamilton Sr. on consoling Hadjar

Hamilton's father said, "When I saw it happen, my heart just sank for him. Not just for him, for his parents, for everything they've done, to work hard to get to this one point."

Hamilton Sr. felt he had to say something to the rookie. "I just felt terrible for him. So I thought, 'you know what, I need to go tell this kid: 'keep your head high, walk tall. You are going to come back.' I think he's a phenomenal driver. I really do. I think there's more to come from Isack than we probably have seen this weekend."

Hadjar has been taking his race to heart as he has expressed deep embarrassment and regret for crashing. Not only towards himself, but also his team. Despite that, he has set his sights on doing better at next week's race, the Chinese Grand Prix
