Norris points to 'huge advantage' over Verstappen in F1 title fight
F1 News

After two strong Grands Prix, McLaren seem to be the strong favourite for every event at the moment. Lando Norris explained why together with Oscar Piastri, they have an advantage over Max Verstappen.
Two pole positions and two Grands Prix victories McLaren have achieved so far this season, having a perfect track record excluding the Sprint this weekend. Max Verstappen is currenty only eight points behind Lando Norris, but he did not have a shot at the podium at the Shanghai International Circuit this Sunday.
McLaren know why they beat Verstappen and rivals
After Oscar Piastri praised how he can work together with Lando Norris, the Briton explained why having such a strong duo can help them defeat Verstappen. "Oscar said it well honestly. Probably apart from Ferrari I don't think there's another team that has two drivers that push each other anywhere near as much," he began.
"And that for us, that's a huge advantage. Even if you have the same car for everyone, I think you have a team where two drivers can push each other, they're always going to beat everyone else that's just on their own. We have a great car, we have a great team, but we also have two drivers that are pushing each other more than any other team has," the current championship leader continued.
Norris currently has 44 points in the standings compared to Verstappen's 36. Piastri is only two points behind the Dutchman, while the defending champion is the only Red Bull Racing driver to score points this season so far.
Norris and Piastri complement each other
Norris also praised how they can help move the team forwards. "I’ve learned a lot this weekend from Oscar and his ability to adapt to these kind of different situations. But it's definitely something we'll maximise because it's helping us beat every other team at the minute. It's a great car and two incredible drivers..." Norris further explained, then added with a smile: "And Zak [Brown]."
