Surprising Driver of the Day winner doesn't believe it: 'Think it's your looks'

The Chinese Grand Prix will not be remembered for the nail-biting action on track, but still, many drivers did do a good job. However, the winner of the Driver of the Day vote was surprised as well. The award went to Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
It was the Italian who received the topped the ranking made by fans, claiming 20.7% of the votes this Sunday. He crossed the finish line in P8, the position he also lined up on the grid, but was promoted to P6 after the two Ferrari cars were disqualified. The rookie was surprised himself when Toto Wolff shared the news with him over the team radio and asked: "Me?!"
Wolff then answered: "Yes, interesting, no?" Still, Antonelli could not believe the result himself, saying, "That's weird." However, a joyful Wolff found the answer immediately. The Austrian was already in a good mood, after George Russell also finished on the podium. "I think it's your looks. And your target group!" the Mercedes team principal added.
Peter Bonnington, who is better known as 'Bono', also joined in, saying: "Toto's a real charmer." To that, the Austrian answered: "And obviously the looks of your race engineer also."
Grand Prix winner Oscar Piastri finished in second place, collecting 15.6% of the votes. Oliver Bearman, who completed a couple of nice overtakes which he marked with the word 'Ciao!', finished third, with 12.9%.
Completing the Grand Prix without a left end plate on his front wing, Leclerc got 8.4%. Completing the top 5 was Max Verstappen, with 6.5%, after he completed a great second stint on the hard tyres and finished in P5.
