The technical 'crisis' meeting at Red Bull Racing's factory in Milton Keynes is now behind us, where Max Verstappen, among others, discussed possible solutions to halt the downward spiral of the Austrian team. GPblog has learned that it was a positive meeting, although the world champion now has the thought: Everything has to be implemented and be successful.

Thursday, 27 March 2025, will go down in history as one of the most momentous in Red Bull Racing's history. After the already leaked news that Liam Lawson has been replaced by Yuki Tsunoda was confirmed by Red Bull, there was a crisis meeting on the technical direction to be taken for the period ahead.

Unlike Helmut Marko, Max Verstappen was present at this to talk to team boss Christian Horner and his technical people about how to improve the RB21, which is difficult to handle and not fast enough relative to McLaren. GPblog has learned that it was a meeting that Verstappen looks back on positively.

The motto is see first, then believe

But some scepticism remains. After all, this was not the first conversation held internally at the Austrian team about how to improve the car. In the recent past, there were also nice plans, but in practice, they turned out to be less successful than hoped. In any case, internally at Red Bull, the noses are back in sync, and the focus is fully on the next race, the Japanese Grand Prix.

At that circuit, Verstappen has an excellent track record, with the Dutchman managing to win the race at the Suzuka circuit for the last three seasons. Obviously, he wants to continue that series in just over a week's time.
