Stroll aiming for Racing Point to top "very tight" midfield
Lance Stroll is aiming to help Racing Point to a fourth placed finish this year, equalling what the squad achieved in 2016 and 2017, when they were known as Force India.
Stroll made a controversial switch to Racing Point in the winter, replacing Esteban Ocon, but has scored points in two of the four races, including a ninth placed finish last time out in Azerbaijan.
Combine that with Sergio Perez’s eight-point haul for finishing sixth and it made for a good result for Racing Point in Baku, one that put them just one point behind fourth placed McLaren.
Stroll told Sky Sports: “It’s going to be a development race all the way to the end of the season.
“The midfield is very, very tight, just a couple of tenths between fourth to ninth teams, so it’s very, very tight, but it’s going to be a good battle all the way to the end and we’re going to try and bring some pace to Barcelona.
“Absolutely, we’re aiming for a big result this season. There’s a long way to go though, it’s early days.”
