Red Bull, Honda and Exxon all targeting "common goal"
Red Bull initiated their partnership will fuel supplier ExxonMobil all the way back in 2017 and although it has not always been so easy last weekend's Austrian Grand Prix was evidence that all parties are working towards a common goal.
Max Verstappen stormed to victory at the Red Bull Ring last weekend, overtaking Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc in the closing stages, to seal Red Bull's first win of the season. It was also a first win since 2006 by a Honda-powered vehicle.
In previous years Red Bull have been limited by their previous engine supplier Renault because their engines use BP / Castrol. However, with the new cooperation with Honda everyone is able to pull in the same direction, something that Eugine Choi of ExxonMobil believes will help all parties in the pursuit of their "common goal".
“At Red Bull it's all about winning and as we saw in Austria, with the victory there, it is contagious," Choi told AutoMobilSport.
"Everyone wants to work even harder to bring them closer to that ultimate goal.
"Honda already shares that fighting spirit and I think we are the third brand that also wants to pursue that common goal.”
